Here at Sanitago High School, we are committed to excellence not only in academics and athletics, but also in our performing arts department. One performing arts program at Santiago High is our award winning choir program! There are four choir classes offered at SHS - Concert Choir, Baritone Choir, Treble Ensemble, and Madrigals.
Our goal for students in choir is to achieve musical excellence through working together, learning good musicianship skills and rehearsing each day to achieve outstanding performance. Choir at Santiago is an overall fun experience for any SHS student with an interest or passion for vocal Music!
Faculty

Karen Garrett
Teacher
Mrs. Garrett earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Hayward and her Masters in Choral Conducting from the University of Southern California. She has worked for Yamaha Music Education as a classroom music teacher, music school administrator and teacher trainer. After fifteen years with Yamaha, Mrs. Garrett returned to school for her public teaching credential from Cal State Fullerton. She served on the State American Choral Directors Association Board as Repertoire and Standards Chairman for Women's Choirs from 2005-2009 and is currently serving as Southern California Vocal Association President. Mrs. Garrett was voted Teacher of the Year for the Corona/Norco School District for the year 2006-2007. This is Mrs. Garrett's 20th year at Santiago High School.

Eduard Amosejev
Accompanist
Eduard Amosejev received his BA from Vilnius University in Lithuania in English Philology and his Masters in Piano at Lithuanian Music Academy. After years of working as a piano teacher, accompanist and translator in Lithuania he moved to the United States in 2002. He currently works as a piano teacher and accompanist. He is married and has a son, Justin. His favorite hobby is soccer.

Tyler Wolston
Vocal Coach
Tyler Wolsten is a recent graduate from California State University, Fullerton, where he earned his M.M. in Vocal Performance. He spent his undergraduate years studying at Vanguard University, where he will be joining the faculty as a Professor of Voice for the Spring 2017 semester. Tyler also had the opportunity to play Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte for the Berlin Opera Academy this summer, being featured as a Young Artist and auditioning for local Agents. He also splits his time teaching at Mater Dei Catholic High School, Santiago High School, maintaining a private studio, and singing with Tustin Presbyterian Church as a cantor, tenor section leader, and soloist.
